The Thing About Rock Bottom
"I've hit rock bottom, but the only way is up from here"
That's a phrase that we've all heard at least once, you may have even used it at some point in our lives. It's the representation of human resilience even in the face of complete and utter failure. It's a representation of how far into hell hope can reach you; as long as you have hope, you can get back up.
What no one seems to understand is that, up isn't always the only way. A lateral movement is also a possibility. You try to progress from the depth of your situation and find that the depth that you are at isn't the only depth you can reach.
There's always a flavor of depth that you haven't seen.
